Onsite: Monday - Friday, Day shift

Pay: $90,000 - $120,000

                                                     

The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range DSM expects to pay the successful candidate for the position.  Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. This position is also eligible for bonuses and benefits, which are not included in the pay scale provided.  

 

As an Associate Manager, SHE, you will support the development of site Maintenance Department by adding structure and balance to the department in relation to program development. Additionally in the areas of Safety, Security and policies with annual and long-term plans in compliance with corporate requirements and relevant laws and regulations. you will define, implement, execute and monitor the site SHE & Security plan and individual department s as defined by DSM’s policies and plans. You will support the site as a program development expert in the maintenance, safety & security areas. You will work interdepartmentally with management team to ensure safe work environment for all employees Additionally, you will manage SHE in regards to costs in compliance with corporate requirements, business group plan, engineering standards, and relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develops site approach to managing combustible dust hazards, as they pertain to product handling, through technical guidance development, SOP development, field study, and training in accordance with Safe Powder Handling guidelines outlined in DSM requirements.
  • Facilitates training in to develop, organize, and conduct SHE & Security related training programs, including confined space, work permit, incident investigation, root cause, LOTOTO, KSB’s etc.
  • Implement proper incident reporting using the DSM platform through IRIS and coordinate with Site Manager & HR department to ensure timely and appropriate medical care if needed, return to work plan is developed and proper incident reporting. Lead all incident investigations through site Root Cause Failure Analysis methodology to arrive at sound causes and solutions to incidents.
  • Ensure Maintenance Department in setting up & reviewing SHEQ requirements, procedures, and instructions by participating in SHEQ culture on site
  • Implement and maintain all SHE actions to ensure compliance.
  • Serve as OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) champion for site for covered processes. Lead team through closure of PSM audit corrective actions and ensure items are addressed in an appropriate and timely manner. Lead or participate in pre-startup safety reviews (PSSRs) for covered processes.
  • Act in such a way that safety awareness & accident prevention are considered in performing all tasks and head the SHEQ & Security standards by encouraging employees to work to the same standards.

You bring:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a technical SHE discipline is required.
  • Professional certification in field highly desirable.
  • Cursory knowledge of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, European Union (EU) regulations, US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations is desired.
  • Complete knowledge of US CALOSHA regulations as they relate to general industry and the ability to co-mingle DSM standards and the CALOSHA requirements.
  • Must have advanced computing skills in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and an introduction to Microsoft Visio and Access or similar.
