Position Overview:

The Warehouse Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting team members, solving problems, and ensuring smooth operations within the warehouse. This role involves working closely with team leaders and colleagues to maintain high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The Warehouse Coordinator will also be actively involved in Lean Six Sigma (LSS) initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Apply Lean Six Sigma tools to identify and resolve problems effectively.
  • Collaborate with Team Leaders to ensure adherence to quality criteria and standardized work practices.
  • Develop, Implement and train employees using job Instruction (JI)/ Standard Work training methods
  • Respond quickly to issues, working with team leads and supervisors to solve problems efficiently.
  • Promote a culture of safety and maintain 5S housekeeping standards.
  • Assist in training team members on standardized work practices.
  • Maintain clear communication with Team Leaders and other team members on daily activities.
  • Foster strong working relationships with downstream customers and the Bill of Materials (BOM) team at both plants.
  • Work with buyers to ensure optimal material levels are maintained.
  • Act as a liaison between quality, purchasing, and suppliers during quality issues.
  • Support month-end inventory processes and collaborate between the warehouse and purchasing departments during physical inventories.
  • Encourage team member involvement in improvement initiatives and take ownership of LSS projects within the warehouse.
  • Collaborate with inventory clerks and BOM teams to ensure accurate inventory management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of Green Belt Training Program or equivalent development.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate others to achieve performance improvements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to challenge and guide team members to follow standards.
  • Proficiency in applying Lean Six Sigma tools such as Standardized Work, Job Instructions, Work Balance Charts, and Time/Motion Observations.
  • Strong teaching and relationship-building skills, with flexibility in managing change effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals and departments.
  • Quick decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
  • Ability to analyze large data sets efficiently and remain calm under pressure.

Working Conditions:  

  • Regularly required to work at heights on platforms, lifting parts and pieces up to 50 lbs, traveling up and down stairs on a constant basis, sitting, squatting, and bending in various awkward positions for certain lengths of time - including working overhead, traveling in and out of work areas, walking and being on your feet for a majority of the workday. Exposed to noise, dust, fumes, and odors daily.  Physical exertion is required. Requires standing, bending and twisting for a 10-hour shift. May be required to work in a non-air-conditioned area. Vision protection, and steel-toed shoes are required. Hearing protection may be required.
