Software Engineer

Job description

Atlantic Quantum is seeking a software engineer to help develop the software backend of our quantum computing stack. You will be working closely with the quantum hardware team to develop software for controlling and testing our quantum devices. Your tasks will include: 

• Building software to acquire data from scientific instruments. 

• Building tools for data analysis and visualization. 

• Mentoring scientists to actively contribute to the codebase.   

Expertise in quantum computing is not necessary.  

Required Qualifications  

• Bachelor’s in software engineering or equivalent practical experience.

• 5 years of industry experience in software development.

• 3 years of experience programming in Python.

Preferred Qualifications  

• Experience interfacing with scientific instrumentation.  

• Experience with asynchronous programming.

• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.  

• Experience with Agile development in general and Atlassian's Agile software suite in particular.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US.
