Essential Functions

  • Enter prescriptions and verify appropriate and accurate information
  • Enter and update patient’s information
  • Contact patients, pharmacists and doctor's offices to resolve claims issues
  • Manage and organize inventory, including ordering, stocking and rotating supplies
  • Maintain proper storage and handling of medications, including controlled substances
  • Process prescriptions from intake to order completion
  • Resolve customer issues; ensuring accurate information is provided
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and organization policies and procedure

  • Demonstrate effective, culturally sensitive communication skills and effectively communicate verbally and in writing with a variety of people.
  • Know, understand and adhere to organizational policy related to the patient's rights for confidential care.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, including those related to preparation/packaging/storage of products.

 

Working Environment and Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continuously required to perform computer-related work. The employee is routinely required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occasionally lift to 40 pounds (storage boxes)

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Certification by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board preferred.
  • 0-2 years’ experience working as a pharmacy technician or similar roles.
  • Community health care experience preferred
  • Bilingual, Spanish and English preferred
