As a Barista – We Proudly Serve Starbucks®, you deliver consistently high‑quality Starbucks beverages while creating a welcoming, Guest‑focused experience. This role blends beverage craftsmanship, speed and accuracy, and strong operational discipline—helping the coffee venue run smoothly while upholding both Grand Casino service standards and We Proudly Serve Starbucks® brand requirements.

What You’ll Do

Guest Experience + Service Excellence

  • Greet Guests warmly, professionally, and with genuine hospitality.
  • Take beverage and food orders accurately and efficiently; clarify preferences and answer menu questions with confidence.
  • Prepare Starbucks coffee, tea, espresso beverages, and specialty drinks according to We Proudly Serve Starbucks® standards.
  • Deliver fast, accurate, and friendly service in a high‑volume environment.
  • Receive payments and follow all cash‑handling and internal control procedures.
  • Address Guest questions and concerns appropriately, escalating issues when needed to ensure Guest satisfaction.

Product Quality + Operational Execution

  • Follow all Starbucks recipes, beverage specifications, and portion controls.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the coffee bar, equipment, counters, and Guest areas.
  • Clean and maintain espresso machines, brewers, and other equipment; report malfunctions promptly.
  • Support inventory control, restocking, rotation, and product dating.
  • Comply with all food safety, sanitation, and state health regulations.
  • Assist with preparation, heating, and finishing of approved food items according to standards.

Team Collaboration + Culture

  • Work cooperatively with Supervisors and fellow Food & Beverage team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Participate in pre‑shift meetings and maintain clear, professional communication throughout the shift.
  • Promote a workplace culture grounded in respect, teamwork, accountability, and mutual support.
  • Provide assistance to other Food & Beverage outlets as operational needs require.

Operational Reliability + Integrity

  • Uphold all Grand Casino service standards and venue expectations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and comply with uniform and grooming guidelines.
  • Complete assigned duties with attention to safety, accuracy, and Guest impact.

What You Bring

  • One year of prior barista or coffee shop experience preferred.
  • ServSafe Certification preferred.
  • Strong Guest service, communication, and basic math skills.
  • Ability to learn and apply standardized operating procedures related to beverage preparation and service.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment when responding to Guest needs or operational situations.
  • Must be able to secure and maintain a license from Gaming Regulatory Authority (GRA)
  • Compliance with all Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGRs).
  • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
