About the Team

HPE Networking develops high-performance, rack-mounted systems that power hyperscale data centers and cloud infrastructure worldwide. Our Mechanical Engineering team designs robust electro-mechanical platforms that meet demanding structural, thermal, and reliability requirements.

We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern with strong interest in structural simulation and vibration analysis to support next-generation networking hardware development.

What You’ll Work On:

• Perform structural simulations using ANSYS (preferred)
• Conduct modal analysis and vibration studies on rack-mounted systems
• Support static structural analysis (deflection, mounting loads, thermal stress)
• Perform lab experiments to improve designs and to validate simulations
• Contribute to mechanical design reviews and prototype validation
• Collaborate with electrical, thermal, and manufacturing engineers

You will work on real shipping hardware programs under the mentorship of senior engineers.

Education:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (3rd year preferred)
• Strong background in:
  • Solid mechanics
  • Non-linear analysis
  • Vibrations and dynamics
• Experience with ANSYS or similar FEA tools
• Familiarity with 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills

Nice to Have:

• Research or internship experience in structural simulation
• Exposure to electronics packaging or electro-mechanical systems
• Understanding of modal testing or vibration theory
• Experience with accelerometer and strain gauge instrumentation
