About The Team

The Product and Engineering Organization at Crunchyroll is a fast-growing organization with over 300 employees in multiple regions across the globe. The Product & Engineering Operations team is here to ensure the broader organization remains aligned, focused and efficient. We help manage day-to-day tasks, support the organization as a whole, and partner with individual leaders in the organization to allow them to focus on their specific needs and goals.

The mission of the Operations team is to provide a value-add service to the organizational leaders, by removing unnecessary overhead from their day-to-day work.

About You:

  • 10+ years experience in an Operations or Project Management role
  • Experience working with a Product and/or Engineering team a plus
  • Service-oriented mindset; focused on producing results for stakeholders and partners at high quality and with efficiency
  • Able to identify gaps in existing processes and provide solutions, as well as a roadmap and strategy for future improvements
  • Self-starter; unafraid to try new things and able to act autonomously with little direction
  • Strong focus on continuous improvement; you are always looking to evolve and improve current processes and ways of working, never settling for status quo
  • Able to partner closely with all levels of the organization
  • Flexible and adaptable; ready to take on new challenges that may unexpectedly arise
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Familiar with tools such as JIRA, G-Suite, and Microsoft

A day in the life of our Sr. Manager, Product & Engineering Operations

  • As a domain owner, define areas underneath your purview and identify a roadmap and strategy for those areas, reviewing progress regularly with cross-departmental partners and peers
  • Provide and implement solutions for process gaps with measurable goals for success
  • Work collaboratively with peers and cross-departmental team members to solicit feedback, understand areas of concerns, and gaps
  • Partner with P&E Leadership and their teams to facilitate budget tracking, PO creation and contract execution
  • Partner with Finance and individual cost-center owners to assist them with balancing and understanding their budget
  • Hire and build a team; coach and mentor your directs, enable them to be self-sufficient and work with them on individual development plans and goals
  • Serve as a mentor for all new team members and peers; help them understand processes and coach them when needed
  • Partner cross-functionally with other departments to understand processes, and then work to continuously document and update those processes
  • Partner with other members of the Operations organization to evaluate current ways of working, and provide recommendations on how to iterate and improve
  • Act as the subject matter authority for individuals in your location, and across the organization; answer questions, or point them to individuals who can answer questions
  • Partner with Product and Engineering organization and People team on headcount planning; track current and open headcount for the P&E organization
  • Participate in yearly mid-range planning and budget process
  • Partner with Crunchyroll Operations and P&E leadership on OKRs; supervise and advise on KRs for their individual teams
  • Own, curate and facilitate regular P&E team surveys. Conduct debrief sessions with P&E Leadership and handle action items/follow-ups
