PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The hiring salary for this position is $86,438-$108,047 /Annually

OVERVIEW OF POSITION / DEPARTMENT
The Business Systems Analyst Senior provides technical expertise and support to the Aurora Fire Rescue in the areas of computer applications, technology development, interfacing of systems, and develops related training. Serves as the department expert in the functionality and operational implementation of systems, specifically the departments timekeeping system, acts as liaison in communications with the Information Technology (IT) Department and provides support to AFR payroll team.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Define configuration specifications and business analysis requirements
Serve as Administrator on multiple applications, including TeleStaff, and other Fire Department applications
Define, test and implement changes for specific systems
Perform quality assurance, monitoring data and user issues in multiple systems
Define, build and deliver reports to meet operational needs
Own and develop relationships with vendors, outside Fire agencies and other City departments to optimize and enhance Fire Department operations
Design, document, and maintain system processes
Report on common sources of technical issues, make recommendations for fixes or enhancements
Communicate key insights and findings to Management and Command Staff
Look for ways to improve the efficiency of Fire operations and define/develop ways to monitor productivity
Devise ways to add new functionality to existing Fire computer systems
Establish new users, manage access levels and reset passwords
Maintain an advanced level of technical proficiency concerning all aspects of the department's software applications and possess a willingness to learn and research new systems
Troubleshoot user application issues, document and report problems to vendors on support tickets, work with IT as needed to resolve issues
Provide support to Fire on SQL development.
Serve as a technical trainer for the Fire department to increase staff skills in major applications
Prepare test plans, coordinate users, perform critical testing and work with IT staff to execute software application upgrades
Build training materials, schedules and conduct classes for new users, application enhancement and upgrades
Develop applicant manuals and other training resources, such as videos, to support users
Determine project priorities and manage workflow to meet deadlines
Participate in software applications purchase projects (RFP requirements input, review and evaluation of application performance and rate of the ability of the software to meet the detailed requirements)
Perform as technology advisor for the Fire Department
Present data and interpretations from technology assessments and projects both orally and written to a wide, varying audience
Collaborate with employees on technical projects to clarify user needs, develop new or updated business processes and implement new Public Safety systems
