Position Summary:

Bentley Systems is seeking a talented individual to become a valued member of our successful team as an Application Engineer (AE) for our Cities and Campuses solutions.

Our Solution Engineering team is a strategic partner to the sales organization and responsible for building a compelling vision of the Bentley solutions for our users and prospects in some of the largest organizations in the world.

As an Application Engineer, you will serve a vital role in the Solution Engineering organization as a Cities & Campuses product specialist who prepares the necessary content and datasets, delivers presentations to users and potential users to showcase product and solution capabilities, understand their requirements and articulate this knowledge to the rest of the organization. 

 

Your Day-to-Day:

• Assisting Account Advancement team in the sales cycle from start to close of an opportunity.
• Create effective presentations and demonstrations that illustrate the capabilities, workflows, and value of Bentley Cities & Campuses applications to users.   
• Engage directly with users to conduct discovery sessions and define requirements.
• Deliver presentations and provide support for corporate sales and marketing events.
• Supporting product and license sales with benefit oriented, feature specific demonstrations that promote Bentley solutions for cities, campuses & Buildings Digital Twins in close collaboration with our slaes team, articulating technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. 
• Contribute to written proposal development and submission.
• Prepare and recommend scope of services for User Success to implement.
• Provide timely feedback on user interactions to improve sales and marketing efforts.
• Prepare and deliver relevant feedback to Product Teams to improve our products (from product issues to user needs).
• Understand Cities, Campuses & Buildings industry design standards as well as methodologies and make recommendations for conformant product configurations.
• Collaborating on local software requirements and standards development
• Stay updated on Smart Cities industry trends and competitor offerings to maintain a competitive edge.  
• Actively participate in relevant industry conferences and trade shows and be recognized as an industry leader.
• Collaborate with marketing team for Product & Solutions positioning in the market.

 

What You Bring to The Team:

• Urban Planning/ Building Engineering/ Structural degree, or IT degree or equivalent
• 3+ Years relevant industry experience, incl. knowledge of BIM & Digital Twins workflows and processes in delivering infrastructure projects covering any of the asset lifecycle stages such as design, construction, and operation 
• Ability to understand urban planning principles in relation to different infrastructure industries.
• Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information System) and Digital Twins
• Experience with 3D BIM software is necessary, experience with Bentley Software such as OpenBuildings Designer, ProStructures or MicroStation preferred; ability to learn and effectively demonstrate the Bentley software suite.
• Excellent written and oral communication as well as strong people skills including managing client meetings and outcome critical discussions.
• Outstanding speaking, presentation, and demonstration skills.
• Ability to explain complex topics to audiences of all levels of knowledge and seniority.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new complex products.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills with the drive & commitment to own and deliver outstanding work.
• Able to adjust to changing work locations and situations.
• Fluency in English and another European Language (French or German), oral and written; additional languages as a plus.
• Able to travel min. 25% of the time
