Indian River Hospital’s Primary Care team, including family medicine and internal medicine caregivers, are skilled in preventing, diagnosing and treating pediatric and adult diseases and conditions. No matter how common or complex a condition is, this team works in collaboration with other specialists to coordinate and manage patient care. As a Clinical Assistant, you will assist your fellow LPNs, RNs and other healthcare staff in providing exceptional patient support at Pointe West Family Practice. This position is a great introduction to the Cleveland Clinic enterprise before exploring further our numerous educational or professional development opportunities.
A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 5:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Function as a member of the Patient Care Team by utilizing knowledge of nursing theory and disease processes in order to provide professional nursing care to patients as appropriate.
Be responsible for patient care by continuously practicing within the guidelines of CCF policies and procedures as evidenced by accuracy in medication administration.
Provide accurate medication administration and nursing documentation such as medical records, authorization forms and laboratory requisitions.
Implement pain management assessments and documentation.
Recognize changes in patients' status and reports pertinent information to Charge Nurse or Physicians.
Recognize and follow through with nursing intervention.
Maintain complete and up-to-date documentation and files at all times.
Perform patient teaching as needed under the supervision of RN/Physician.
Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
Follow Code Blue protocol as per clinic policy.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of an accredited LPN program
Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license<
