As an entry level Process Utilities Engineer you'll have the unique opportunity to work within an integrated Architecture, Engineering, and Construction firm capable of executing ONEsolution integrated project delivery work. How will I contribute?
Process utilities focuses on the design and engineering of critical utility equipment and distribution (or collection) systems along with the supporting facility infrastructure required to support manufacturing operations. Typical tasks include execution of engineering calculations including heat transfer and hydraulic pressure drop calculations. The Entry-Level Process Utilities Engineer is responsible for supporting the documentation of the design scope in coordination with other disciplines. The Entry-Level Process Utilities Engineer may support field installation teams and execute construction site observations. This role is expected to work closely with other architects, engineers, and designers, as well as other internal and external team members to ensure a coordinated, constructible, and complete design.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting the documentation of the design scope in coordination with other disciplines
- Support field installation teams and execute construction site observations
- Responsible for supporting the documentation of the design scope in coordination with other disciplines.
- Work closely with other architects, engineers, and designers, as well as other internal and external team members to ensure a coordinated, constructible, and complete design
- May work on one or more projects simultaneously as directed by a Supervisor or mentor
- Typical tasks include execution of engineering calculations including heat transfer and hydraulic pressure drop calculations. Systems Designed include:
- Purified Water Generation, Storage and Distribution
- Clean Steam Generation and Distribution
- Compressed Air and Process Gas Generation and Distribution
- Biological and Process Waste Collection, Inactivation and Neutralization
- Clean in Place Systems
- Bulk Chemical Storage and Distribution
- Bulk Cryogenic Liquid Storage and Distribution

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- ABET-accredited Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical or bioprocess engineering
- 0 to 3 years of experience, preferably in a design firm setting
- Fundamentals of Engineering Exam registration or completion preferred
Additional Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD desirable
- Fundamental experience with performing engineering calculations
- Fundamental experience with developing and implementing list of discipline systems designs required
- Fundamental experience with the chemistry
- Fundamental experience with process modeling, material and energy balances and basic sizing calculations
