Staff Accountant, Revenue

The Staff Accountant – Inspire Company Restaurants (ICR) Revenue Accounting, Third Party Delivery will support the manager and senior accounting to ensure the revenue accounting function for third party delivery sales is executed in accordance with GAAP. This role will contribute to the achievement of the Company’s timely and accurate reporting by assisting with OneInspire Finance process improvement initiatives and department goals.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and bank reconciliations each period to ensure completeness and accuracy for third party delivery (e.g. Uber Eats, DoorDash, etc.) activity. Adhere to effective internal control environment
• Ensure deadlines are met for assigned tasks and issues are communicated to manager and Operations in a timely manner
• Act as a liaison between, Revenue Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Off-Premise Delivery, and 3rd Party Delivery Vendors to ensure all payments are received, reports are accurate, settlements tie out and promotions are properly recognized  
• Demonstrate strong commitment to customer service and personal development when communicating with the accounting team and our business partners.
• Review 3rd Party Delivery activity on profit & loss statements. Post correcting journal entries as needed each period to ensure adherence to US GAAP
• Demonstrate an ownership mentality.  Recommend solutions when confronted with issues or complex problems. Take initiative to learn
• Perform ad-hoc projects, as assigned, to help analyze and support Company decisions

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• 4-year degree in Accounting
• Certified Public Accountant track preferred

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES

• Flexible, “hands-on,” self-starter with strong initiative and work ethic
• Ability to work in fast moving, high pressure environment
• Capacity to ask questions and acquire knowledge from accounting guidance and team discussions
• Must be able to understand multiple US GAAP concepts and apply that knowledge to real-life situations
• Effective at communicating with other departments
• Analytical skills to draft memos, emails, and footnotes
• Ability to shift priorities as needed to make progress on multiple brands, projects, and workstreams simultaneously
• Team player who works with an appropriate sense of urgency and ownership to meet deadlines
• Proficient in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
