Senior Manager Digital and Tech Plant and Automation (Princeton, NJ)

As Sr. Manager D&T Plant & Automation, you will lead and inspire a global team of plant automation professionals, building organizational capability, developing talent, and creating an environment where people can do the best work of their careers. You will serve as a trusted partner to senior leaders, helping shape priorities, influence investments, and drive the digital manufacturing roadmap across our global operations.

You will also play a senior delivery role, aligning demand and capacity while delivering digital manufacturing solutions that enhance performance across MES, warehousing, automation, and robotics. Your leadership will accelerate digital transformation, strengthen operational discipline, and drive meaningful business results.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach, and develop a global Plant & Automation team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance.
• Balance demand, capacity, and team priorities across a global support organization, ensuring effective deployment of resources for incidents, enhancements, and strategic initiatives.
• Influence senior business and technology leaders with trusted recommendations that help shape priorities, investments, and long-term manufacturing technology roadmaps.
• Deliver digital manufacturing solutions (MES, warehousing, automation, robotics) that improve operational stability, efficiency, and scalability across manufacturing sites.
• Strengthen operational excellence through disciplined P1/P2 management, ITIL practices, root cause analysis, and proactive problem prevention.
• Champion digitalization and modernization efforts, inspiring teams and partners to adopt new technologies and drive measurable business value.

You Bring:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, with approximately 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated success leading and developing global technical teams, including employees and contractors, within complex manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Deep expertise in digital manufacturing technologies including MES, warehousing, ACM, batch management, SCADA, DCS, PLC, automation, or robotics.
• Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively across all organizational levels.
• Experience driving operational excellence through incident management, ITIL disciplines, root cause analysis, service delivery, and continuous improvement.
• Flexibility to collaborate across global time zones and a passion for advancing digital transformation, innovation, and manufacturing performance.

The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Salary $150,000-$180,000.
