Our state-of-the-art Medical Mobile Vehicle is more than just transportation; it’s a beacon of hope and health on wheels. And now, we need a hero behind the wheel.

As the driver of our Medical Mobile Vehicle, you’ll be the captain of a ship that sails to where the need is greatest. 


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for picking up the mobile unit from the stored site in Marion, IN, and driving the vehicle to designated clinic sites
  • Responsible for returning the vehicle to the designated storage area, including inspecting the vehicle after use and ensuring the vehicle is secured properly
  • Maintain a clean and mechanically sound vehicle
  • Ensure the vehicle is charged and the generator sufficient before each event is assigned
  • Responsible for cleaning the vehicle after each event, including sweeping, mopping, and wiping down areas with approved products
  • Responsible for filling the unit with gas before and after each trip
  • Perform inspections of the vehicle before and after each route/scheduled visit/activity
  • Assist patients with getting on and off the unit when required, including operating the lift on the vehicle to assist those with disabilities
  • May load and unload equipment as assigned
  • Maintains all vehicle maintenance records and transportation logs, such as mileage and travel logs
  • Conduct monthly vehicle audits to ensure the effective operations of the mobile unit & prevent possible breakdowns and failures
  • Ensure the Mobile Unit has the necessary documentation, such as registration & vehicle insurance
  • Research and plan for traffic, construction, and weather delays
  • Responsible for adhering to a schedule and utilizing the online time management system to maintain up-to-date records of your time

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Valid established driver’s license with a clean driving record 
  • Minimum of 2 years of driving experience, preferably with trailers, buses, RVs, or similar (CDL preferred)
  • Ability to comply with traffic laws and DOT regulations
  • Confidence in driving the Mobile Medical Vehicle, including setup and teardown at clinic sites
  • Flexibility for occasional Saturday hours
  • Must adhere to IHC’s Quality Standards, which include, but are not limited to, Medical Clearance, immunizations, staff training, CPR, Infection Control, and HIPAA
