We are an essential part of the Bank’s technology platform and develop applications for many important business areas.</p><p></p><p>Senior Engineer is responsible for managing or performing work across multiple areas of the bank's overall IT <span>Platform/Infrastructure</span> including analysis, development, and administration. It may also involve taking functional oversight of engineering delivery for specific departments.</p><p>Work includes:</p><ul><li>Developing end-to-end engineering solutions to accomplish business goals</li><li>Building reliability and resiliency into solutions with appropriate testing and reviewing throughout the delivery lifecycle</li><li>Ensuring maintainability and reusability of engineering solutions</li><li>Ensuring solutions are well architected and can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow</li><li>Participating in industry forums to drive adoption of innovative technologies, tools and solutions in the Bank.</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>Responsibilities </b></p><ul><li>Design and development of enterprise software solutions while adhering to development processes and best-practices.</li><li>Work closely with business owners, domain architects, lead engineers and other engineers to ensure optimal implementation of solution to support dashboards and analytical datasets.</li><li>Exhibit agile behaviours across a global team with focus on understanding and delivering business value.</li><li>Actively participate in the technical design and architecture of the application or its components, proposes appropriate solution to use and promotes re-usability of existing components.</li><li>Builds understanding and trust, collaborates for success and develops self and others to inclusively engage the organization</li><li>Delivers high quality complex solutions end to end autonomously across a range of technologies.</li><li>Influences standards, working practices, tools and solutions across their team and is emerging as an expert in one or more technical domains.</li><li>Drives automation of the delivery process.</li><li>Strong knowledge of how to operate and improve solutions and services.</li><li>Manages incidents from root cause to resolution.  Feeds back into engineering design and delivery to prevent recurrence of issues and reduce mean time to recovery.</li><li>Seeks to minimize toil by automation.</li></ul><ul><li>Verify integrated software components by automated unit tests and integrated software testing, measure and analyse code for quality and performance</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>Skills </b></p><ul><li>Deep knowledge of Java on both object oriented and functional programming, experience in Java multi-threaded environment, building REST services, knowledge of Spring/Spring Boot frameworks, SQL;</li><li>Familiar with design of REST APIs;</li><li>Leadership skills;</li><li>Architecture and design approaches that support rapid, incremental and iterative delivery, such as Domain Driven Design, CQRS, Event Sourcing and micro services;</li><li>Experience of working with scaled agile delivery methodology concepts in application development;</li><li>Solid knowledge of software engineering, design patterns and software architecture.</li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>Well-being &amp; Benefits</b></p><p><b>Emotionally and mentally balanced:</b> <b>we support you in dealing with life crises, maintaining stability through illness, and maintaining good mental health</b></p><ul><li>Empowering managers who value your ideas and decisions.
