Salary, based on experience and other qualifications: $23.55 Per Hour

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operates and maintains equipment in operating order including changeovers and adjustments to ensure efficient operation of the production line.
  • Accurately and consistently completes all required paperwork to include but not be limited to interpreting schedules, Brand Flavor Size codes, coding information, Weight Sheets, Housekeeping sheets, Cap Inspection Sheets, Downtime Sheets, etc.
  • Performs periodic quality checks as needed.
  • Monitors fill temperatures If applicable and any other food safety control points.
  • Consistently maintains clean and safe work area being sure to remove any foreign matter that could contaminate product.
  • Consistently performs safe operation of the filler and capper which includes but is not limited to ensuring that filler is in time, nozzles are properly aligned to center of jar, and that the infeed and discharge are aligned properly.
  • Consistently ensures that filler and capper are clean prior to operation; that all the valves are in place and properly positioned, and that proper adjustments are accurate according to size being run.
  • Regularly monitors fill weights for accuracy and make adjustments as needed to ensure proper fill weights.
  • Checks and records the proper cap removal torque.
  • Coordinates glass, cap and flavor/size changes, and orders all required glass and caps in a timely manner to avoid downtime.
  • Communicates with the Cookroom as to flavors being run and when line is going down.
  • Communicates with label operators as to the flavors being run.
  • Understands and follows all glass breakage procedures keeping fill area free of broken glass, and keeps appropriate records.
  • Dumps glass at dump station in preparation of production.
  • Inspects bottle cleaner for effective performance and adjust as necessary
  • If filler has a drip pan ensures that it is hooked up properly.
  • If filler has a vacuum system verifies that water is on.
  • Check and set all valves from the product supply lines to the fillers.
  • Monitors correct cap use per production schedule.
  • Performs efficient and timely wash-ups and flavor changes according to production schedule to minimize downtime.
  • Efficiently trouble shoots mechanical problems to ensure continuous operation and performs basic operator PM’s on fillers/cappers.
  • Responsible for submitting work orders for equipment repairs.
  • Orders drums, installs liners and barrels product off when necessary, ensuring that drums are labeled appropriately.
  • Sets and checks filler speeds according to established standards.
  • Coordinates incoming bottle speeds.
  • Monitor line for broken jars, no caps, or product irregularities.
  • Must wear required PPE BLUE NITRILE GLOVES at all times throughout Spoonable facility
  • Inform Management of ANY Food safety or Quality issues or of any processes, which become noncompliant with specified requirements.
  • Safely and accurately perform all duties as required for this position to ensure the safety and quality of our products.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Critical Skill Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Validation on position or machine will be required after initial training and every 6 months.
  • Must be able to drive a forklift and be willing to obtain a forklift certification.
  • Must be dependable, reliable and mature enough to handle equipment safely and sensibly.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instruction, as well as basic math calculations.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as effectively in a team environment.
