About the role

ACTIVITIES
Customer Facing
-    On site support for customer and agency trials for additives and patented sales and licensed products.
-    Trouble shoot, when needed, customer technical issues.
-    Along with the commercial team, visit potential customers, including contractors and other industry decision makers, to promote our existing and new products.
-    Along with the Market Manager, R&D, Commercial and the Sr. Project Manager, develops strategy, and execution of contractor strategy.
-    Responsible for development and execution of contractor strategy in collaboration with commercial team/account managers
-    Actively participate in state, regional & national events to promote Company technology & services
-    Reviews state (DOT) project lettings and specifications to identify opportunities to leverage our IP
Internal Application Expertise
-    Works with multi-functional teams on new business & product development commercialization
-    Provides technical insights for the development of our marketing, communication and sales plans and activities.
-    Provide technical expertise to support the Intellectual Property (Legal) Department to help differentiate our products.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT
-    Exposure to risks associated with asphalt plant and jobsite visits.
-    Travel up to 50% of the time. (Must have/obtain a credit card to use for reimbursable travel expenses.)
-    Majority of travel will require departure from a major airport. 
-    Candidate must have the ability to work remotely from a home office with internet access.
-    Ability to work flexible hours, based on customer demands, required.

-    Must be able to pass a post-offer / pre-placement Motor Vehicle and background check.

-    Ability to use computers / software for travel planning, report writing, and expense management. 
-    Technical aptitude including the ability to understand and explain products and their applications
-    Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
-    Strong ability to create collaborative teams
     
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
-    Four-year college degree – preferably in Civil Engineering, Chemistry or Materials Science
-    A minimum of 10 years’ experience in the asphalt industry with a strong technical and mechanical background in asphalt terminal, emulsion plant and mix plant design, equipment, and functionality
-    Strong understanding of asphalt mix design and application
-    Experience selling solutions to the heavy Civil Engineering/Construction community is required
-    10+ years of successful technical/consultative selling experience is preferred
-    Experience consulting with government agencies and pavement engineers required
