Cybersecurity Data Engineering Director

What does a successful Cybersecurity Data Engineering Director do at Fiserv?

You will lead a team that manages a data ecosystem consisting of multiple platforms utilized for the integration and warehousing of security-relevant data. The data platforms provide the ability to perform analysis and produce actionable knowledge from data originating from both cybersecurity and corporate systems. You will interface with internal clients and management on information security issues and strategies, managing new and existing requirements, and fully documenting processes and solutions. 

What you will do:

  • Design, develop and manage large scale data systems, efficient and effective processes and routines for data capture, normalization, and management
  • Recommend strategy for functional and business units supported and ensure the implementation of high-end, business-wide, critical strategy set by senior management
  • You will be responsible for managing the staffing, performance and directing the team based on demands
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and direction for functional units supported
  • Proactively allocate resources and maintain and control expenses
  • You will interface with several products and technologies including DataOracle Exadata, Google BigQuery, Splunk, MongoDB/NoSQL, other RDBMS - OLAP, MSSQL, MySQL; Talend, PowerBI, among others

What you will need to have:

  • 10+ years of IT experience
  • 6+ years of related technical and business experience
  • Experience in technical leadership, including decision-making and people management
  • Experience with Big Data frameworks, querying tools, and analytics tools in a large-scale implementation in an Enterprise environment (Oracle and BigQuery)
  • Experience with firewalls, networking, operating systems, databases, and storage, both at a functional level to understand data that is in scope
  • Experience in Regex, scripting, programming, NoSQL, SQL, data modeling, and schema design
  • Experience with business operations, policies, and practices
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience

What would be great to have:

  • 3+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform, especially BigQuery, Talend, or other equivalent ELT/ETL solutions
  • Experience with Splunk Administration, SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) and SOAR systems, security operations and processes, and security event correlation or other information security models
  • Experience with repository management systems, such as GIT, etc)
  • Experience with enterprise-scale operations and maintenance environments
  • MS degree with equivalent work experience and relevant certifications
