Amazon Vulnerability Management and Remediation (VMR) is looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our Vulnerability Management Response Team. VMR is responsible for the discovery, assessment, triage, and remediation of vulnerabilities across Amazon. We are data-driven, set big goals, and are always challenging ourselves and each other to identify better solutions and take on new challenges. Our team offers the unique opportunity to work with leading industry security experts and engage across Amazon teams and leadership.
As a TPM in VMR Response, you will play a hands-on role in the proactive identification and remediation of security issues at Amazon. You will be part of a global-scale vulnerability response service supporting a diverse technical ecosystem. Your teammates are an international group of security engineers, software developers, and technical program managers dedicated to continuously raising the security bar.
Key job responsibilities
- You create escalation and exception autonomously also participate in an on call activities.
- You process engineer to ensure a delightful customer experience, increasing efficiency and effectiveness of the post-launch team.
- You consider the larger picture (e.g., efficiency, availability, operability, scalability, business goals, customer experience, etc.) You balance the needs of customer requirements with our ability to deliver on those requirements.
- You see patterns and make connections to improve project/process efficiency. You know what solutions exist elsewhere and how they can be connected.
- You discover solutions. You can convey detailed technical knowledge (verbally, in writing, and via diagram) to engineering and program management team(s) (Q. Why did we build X? What customer needs does it provide?).
- You’re a subject matter expert in vulnerability solutions management and have the ability to demonstrate depth of understanding of industry.
- You are responsible for project management a team internal to VMR (assessment, campaigns, customer support, etc.), successfully delivering improvements to a product and/or to meet program goals.
- As part of your project and program ownership, you know the larger business picture (i.e., customer experience, organization goals, opportunities, and/or problems) and you deeply understand the technical requirements of the solutions being built (i.e., architecture , dependency impacts, efficiency, performance, availability, operability, etc.).
- You partner effectively with technical managers to secure resources, scope engineering efforts, set project priorities, milestones, and drive delivery. You help teams determine where to iterate to make improvements. You determine if success metrics are in place, and if not work to define them.
- To meet timelines and minimize disruption to builder teams, you manage the overall schedule, proactively mitigate risks, and keep the scope of engineering efforts under control.
- You accelerate progress by driving crisp and timely decisions, clearing blockers (e.g., “Path to green”), escalating appropriately.
