To meet students where they are, we will host internships in both a virtual and in-person format. Opportunities listed will either be in-person based on the location mentioned or virtual, depending on business needs. Some of our internship opportunities that begin in September will continue through the Academic Year and end in April. Job Description

Fall 2023 Internship Program: 

• Applications Close: June 9, 2023 at 11:59pm ET. Pro Tip: Submit your application as soon as possible – don't delay! 
• Program Dates: September 18, 2023 – December 8, 2023 
• Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.

Operations & Technology (O&T) is a $1B operating cash flow ($1.5B FCF) division of NBCUniversal. The group functions as a global shared service within NBCUniversal performing critical functions including Media, Broadcast and Studio Operations & Production, Content Supply Chain, Information Technology and Engineering, as well as Cyber Security. The group operates from numerous locations around the world, including New York, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Denver, Connecticut, and London. 

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to: 

• MSNBC On-Air Ops, Editing: We have a team of 54 editors who work around the clock to support MSNBC's on-air operations. We provide video for day of air and future productions. Our interns will get hands on experience. Under the supervision of a staff editor, they will cut assignments for day of air. We'll provide editing equipment and extensive Avid training. The intern will also work closely with editors and producers to complete those assignments in a timely manner (must comply with NBC's broadcast standards and practices). 

Qualifications

Basic Requirements: 

• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program. 
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits). 
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal. 
• Must be working from a location within the United States during all hours worked. 

Desired Characteristics: 

• Students with class standing of junior or above preferred. 
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
• Some editing experience with Avid or equivalent editing system. 
• Familiar with Outlook and Teams. 
• Knowledge of current events and MSNBC's line up would be helpful but not required. 
• Work in compliance with NBC's Integrity, Diversity and equity policies. 

The hourly rate for student interns is $30.00.
