Job Title: Senior Manager, Technical Sales
About The Role:
We are currently seeking a Senior Manager to join the Technical Sales team at Forge Biologics. This is an exciting opportunity to work with large and small AAV therapeutic development companies and help shape successful CMC manufacturing pathways. The individual chosen for this position must be a PhD level scientist and will provide wholistic technical expertise in AAV therapeutic development, process development, manufacturing and associated analytics. This role functions as a technical overlay for sales and delivery teams, focused on peer-to-peer conversations with technical leadership at client organizations. This role can be remote but must be willing to travel ~30% to Forge Biologic’s corporate office in Columbus, Ohio as well as domestically or internationally to conferences and client meetings.
What You'll Do:
Presales:
- Provide a scientific perspective and act as a technical interface between the Forge Biologics sales and delivery teams and current or potential clients.
- Oversee technical scoping of client programs through the proposal and contract stages.
- Serve as a technical expert during client interactions, answering inquiries, addressing concerns, and providing accurate and compelling information about our products.
- Work closely with the sales team to develop specific account growth strategies and assist in the effort to expand Forge’s sales through current and new business opportunities.
- Demonstrate ability to build and sustain credible business relationships with clients and share expertise accordingly.
- Create engaging and persuasive proposals, presentations, and sales materials that effectively communicate the technical benefits and competitive advantages of our products.
- Attend and participate in industry events, trade shows, vendor shows, and other related events as needed.
Delivery:
- Act in concert with a client commercial team (Client Relations and Project Management) & technical delivery teams for the successful and timely delivery of contracted work.
- Monitor client program progress and manufacturing data and provide scientific expertise on routine delivery calls.
- Provide timely responses and scoping of Change Order requests.
- Provide updates and input in Client Joint Steering Committee Meetings, along with commercial partners and Forge Leadership.
What You'll Bring:
- Graduate degree in Life Science, Biotechnology or related field required. Ph.D would be preferred.
- Hands on experience within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, preferably with experience in Manufacturing Science & Technology, GMP manufacturing, Process Engineering, Process Development, or related fields.
- Strong technical background with the ability to understand and articulate complex scientific concepts effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of the drug development process, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics in the gene therapy field.
- Outstanding relationship management and influencing capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
This position works in a typical office environment where the physical work demands will vary depending on the specific tasks and duties required of the job. This is largely a sedentary role; persons holding office positions are generally subject to inside environmental conditions having the lighting, temperature, and noise of an open floor-plan office environment. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Regularly communicate with others in person, over the phone, and electronically. Must be able to move and/or carry objects weighing up to 10 lbs.
