Medical Assistant

Position Summary:

As a Medical Assistant at Memory Treatment Centers, you will support our doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication, but also our front desk in answering phones, checking patients out, and generally being available when anyone department needs your help.

Key Responsibilities

• Intake patients and document basic medical history prior to provider exam.
• Check out patients, organize and schedule appointments
• Help at the front desk by answering phone calls and checking in patients when necessary
• Respond to patient requests via phone, email, and in person in a timely manner
• Update and file medical records and insurance reports
• Assist physicians during procedures
• Assist with prior authorizations when necessary
• Perform a variety of patient testing and screening, which may include injections, hearing and vision screening, MoCA and MMSE exams, EEG exams and similar functions.
• Performs other work-related duties as requested.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Proven working experience as a medical assistant
• Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work without being told what to do.
• Social perceptiveness and service-oriented
• Is a team player
• Comfortable with technology and can quickly learn EMR systems.

Education/Licensure/Technical Requirements.

• MA Certification Preferred
• BLS required within 60 days

Ability to meet U.S. employment and eligibility requirements
