About the role

Under general supervision the Food and Nutrition Services Cook – Lead oversees daily production activities in the main kitchen. The Food and Nutrition cook - lead will verify food is correctly produced and presented for the patient Room Service program, cafeteria, catering and coffee courts at PAMC.  The cook – lead will assist in providing supervision to create and maintain a positive working environment which promotes teamwork and customer/patient satisfaction.    The position is a working "Lead", having both line serving and back of the house cooking responsibilities, as well as lead responsibilities for making daily decision regarding production and line service. This includes assigning work responsibilities to the production team(s) as necessary. They will have minor daily administrative duties assisting with forecasting, reviewing daily recipes and quantities and organizing the cooking components of the production process with the production staff. This position will provide kitchen supervision to include scheduling coverage, education, training, resolving issues and providing daily positive leadership.

Hours: Full-time, 1.0  FTE, Variable Shift, 40 Hours Per Week.

Required Qualifications:

  • Upon hire: National Food Handler Card - State County City Authority 
  • Within 6 months (180 days) of hire National ServSafe Manager Certification - National Restaurant Association 
  • 2 years Progressively responsible Food and Nutrition Services experience, including at least one year in a team mentoring or lead role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training Two years college in Food and Nutrition.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
