This position will be located in Palmdale, CA and will support our Mission Assurance team.
This position will be responsible for the following activities:
- Proactively manage Supplier Quality risk to drive down supplier escapes
- Develops and implements quality evaluation and control systems
- Assures process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance
- Interfaces directly with Manufacturing and ME personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing and manufacturing processes and procedures
- Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues
- Development and execution of risk assessments and mitigation plans, and supplier quality requirements development and flow-downs
- Travel to Supplier as needed to support the program
- Collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, hardware and software development functions to ensure quality standards are in place
- Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction
- Work schedule: Work schedule is 9X80 (Mon-Thursday every other Friday)
- Provide inspection methods training and improvements for the inspection team.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree and 5+ years of experience working in Quality or Manufacturing or a Masters degree and 3+ years of experience working in Quality or Manufacturing, years of experience can be used in lieu of degree
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 requirements
- RCCA Experience
- Inspection Methods Expert
- 3 years PR experience
- Must be a US Citizen and have an active DoD (Department of Defense) Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering discipline
- Knowledge of statistical process control
- Understanding of NADCAP certified processes
- Experience with SAP
- Certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies
