Ideal Candidate – Business Analyst (Configuration, Healthcare or Dental Insurance Background)
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Business Analyst with experience or interest in the dental insurance industry. In this role, you will analyze business processes, identify improvement opportunities, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to implement systems and solutions that enhance provider, member, and claims experiences.
You will play a key role in aligning business needs with system functionality, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency in areas such as benefits administration, claims processing, provider networks, and eligibility/enrollment systems.
Job Summary Details:
- Gather, document, and validate business requirements from key stakeholders across product lines , claims, UM, provider relations, IT, and contact center.
- Analyze existing business processes related to dental insurance, such as provider network management, claims & UM adjudication, benefit configuration, and EDI transactions.
- Prepare business requirement documents (BRDs), process maps, use cases, and user stories.
- Collaborate with IT and project teams to design and implement technology solutions that align with dental insurance workflows.
- Support project lifecycles, including requirements definition, UAT planning and execution, and post-implementation support.
- Analyze data and create reports to support insights into claims turnaround time, utilization trends, provider performance, member and provider facing documents and member satisfaction.
- Ensure solutions comply with dental industry regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA, CDT codes, state-specific and federal mandates).
- Act as a bridge between technical teams and business units, translating complex business needs into clear technical requirements.
- Support internal teams (e.g. contact center, provider relations) with documentation, training materials, and operational guides.
- Stay informed on dental insurance trends, technologies, and regulatory updates.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years in in a Business Analyst role, preferably in dental, health, or supplemental insurance.
Key Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of dental insurance operations, including claims, eligibility, benefits design, and provider relations.
- Experience with business analysis methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and process documentation tools (Visio, Lucidchart).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe PDF Writer, and reporting/analytics tools such as SQL, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Familiarity with dental practice management systems, payer platforms, and claims engines
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder collaboration, and technical writing abilities.
- Experience supporting portals (member, provider) and CRM platforms.
- Ability to identify process improvements and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
