About the role

Overview

Acuity, Inc. seeks a Business Analyst I to support enterprise IT project management and business analysis initiatives within a federal financial regulatory environment. This role contributes to the execution of low to moderately complex efforts within a high-volume, Agile delivery environment by supporting business process analysis, requirements management, and process improvement activities across multiple concurrent initiatives. The Business Analyst I works closely with program teams and stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business needs, translate them into structured requirements and models, and support implementation, validation, and adoption of solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Support business process analysis and requirements activities across multiple initiatives, including scope definition, stakeholder engagement, and documentation 
  • Assist in eliciting, documenting, and managing business and system requirements using standard tools and methodologies 
  • Develop and maintain process models, data flows, and other analysis artifacts to support business and technical understanding 
  • Apply process improvement and re-engineering principles to identify opportunities to streamline operations and improve performance 
  • Support business process reviews, alternatives analysis, and cost-benefit analysis to inform decision-making and prioritization 
  • Assist in supporting process automation and modernization initiatives, including participation in testing, validation, and rollout activities 
  • Support facilitation of meetings, stakeholder interviews, and workshops; document outcomes and support knowledge transfer to delivery teams and stakeholders 
  • Assist in validating that solutions meet business needs and requirements 
  • Contribute to development of business cases, cost estimates, and financial/operational analysis 
  • Support analysis of trends, performance metrics, and operational data to inform decision-making 
  • Maintain documentation and artifacts in accordance with established governance, configuration management, and reporting practices 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or related IT delivery roles with increasing responsibility 
  • Experience supporting requirements elicitation, process modeling, and business analysis activities on low to moderately complex projects 
  • Basic understanding of business process improvement, requirements management, and IT analysis methodologies (e.g., process flows, data flow diagrams) 
  • Experience supporting cost-benefit analysis, business case development, or financial analysis 
  • Exposure to process automation, modernization, or organizational change initiatives preferred 
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) 
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, including stakeholder engagement, documentation, and facilitation support 
  • Ability to operate effectively in Agile or hybrid delivery environments with evolving priorities 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
