Cashier - Retail Sales

FlynnO'Hara Uniforms is looking for a (Seasonal/PT, AM availability a must) cashier for its Staten Island, NY location. A cashier is responsible for processing customer transactions and managing payments in a retail setting. This role involves operating cash registers or POS systems, scanning items, accepting various payment methods, issuing receipts, and providing accurate change. The cashier will also play a vital role in delivering excellent customer service by answering questions, resolving issues, and contributing to a positive shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

Transaction Processing

• Accurately scan and ring up purchases
• Accept payments (cash, credit, debit)
• Provide receipts and correct change

Customer Service

• Greet customers and assist with inquiries
• Address concerns or complaints promptly and professionally
• Support customers with locating or purchasing items

Cash Handling

• Balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts
• Ensure accuracy in all monetary transactions

Work Area Maintenance

• Keep checkout stations clean and well-organized
• Restock register supplies as needed

Product Knowledge

• Stay informed on product locations, prices, promotions, and store policies
• Use this knowledge to support and guide customers

Skills and Qualifications
