Position Summary:
Procure all production and facility maintenance items related to operation of plant. Support parts clerk and parts inventory proccesses; coordinate repairs on equipment when needed and issue permits. Help coordinate the repair of equipment and coordinate with maintenance manager the purchase of maintenance materials, services, and emergency repairs.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Research part numbers and interview suppliers to find materials that are competitively priced and meet maintenance needs. Call venders for assistance with part numbers, price or equipment problems as needed. Contact contractors to bid and or to work on projects either too large or specialized for our maintenance staff. Act as a contact for contractors and supervise some projects.
Generate all MRO inventory and non-stock items purchase orders and maintain spreadsheet and tracking of issued purchase orders. Enter new equipment in JDE and VRS as required.
Run PM generator report and issue work order accordingly and issue incoming work order request. Support VENCAM
Issue permits "Hot Work, Confined Space, Food Contact, Ect." Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
Help coordinate the repair of equipment and coordinate with maintenance manager the purchase of maintenance materials, services, and emergency repairs.
Responsible for following all Food Safety policies, procedures and regulatory criterion including the current SQF code, Good Manufacturing Practices, and the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and associated Preventive Controls.
Assist Maintenance Manager and Plant Manager in implementing capital projects.
Contact contractors to bid and or to work on projects either too large or specialized for our maintenance staff. Act as a contact for contractors and supervise some projects.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent experience with 3 to 5 years of on the job training with experience in parts procurement and general accounting/book keeping. Prior supervisory experience helpful.
Knowledge and Skills:
Working knowledge of purchasing guidelines and concepts. Must be able to communicate well with venders. Good computer and telephone skills. Understand and operate computerized purchase order and parts inventory control system. Basic accounting/book keeping skills.

Physical Demands:
Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling. Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform the required task(s). Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance. Additional demands may be required.
Work Environment:
In addition to normal business hours, work schedules may include after hours and weekends as needed. May work outside and in adverse temperatures which include extreme hot, cold, and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Must be willing and able to wear personal protective equipment as required by established Company Safety standards. May require work in confined and dark spaces, and at heights in excess of 18 feet for prolonged periods of time.
