Urban Sky is a venture-backed aerospace startup that pioneers utilization of the stratosphere and reimagines the way humans view and analyze the earth. We design, build, operate, and sell stratospheric balloon systems, and the data we collect supports a wide range of applications, from real-time wildfire monitoring to urban mapping. Urban Sky sends flight vehicles to the stratosphere on a weekly basis.

About The Role:  

Sub assembly technicians work with manufactured components to form work-in-progress or completed products for various manufacturing processes. They review instructions in blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other technical documents to build finished goods to specifications. Assemblers also gather required materials and maintain production equipment.

Key Functions:  
             
  • Studying and interpreting technical documents, such as blueprints, schematics and diagrams required to complete tasks.
  • Reading and confirming the parts list, interpret measurements and verify specifications.
  • Determining availability of materials and tools. 
  • Assembling components and ensuring that all parts are fitted correctly.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and performing repairs.
  • Performing preventive maintenance and reporting and resolving assembly line issues.
  • Keeping the workspace clean.
  • Adhering to health and safety requirements of the company and the industry.
  • Conserving resources and supplies to facilitate minimum waste

Requirements: 
  • Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident 
  • Must be local to Denver, CO 
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license
  • A “can do” attitude and strong work ethic  
  • Able to stand, walk, and stoop; push, pull and lift or lower objects weighing up to 50 lbs  
  • Able to work under adverse conditions (e.g., dirty or noisy spaces)  
  • 3 years relevant work experience
  • Passion for technological development
     


Nice-to-Haves:  
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with parts / component assembly.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exposure to small team / small company environment (Startups)
