The role in a nutshell:

Your role is to share Chainguard’s innovative story with the world. As our Senior Communications Manager, you will help shape Chainguard's narrative and be responsible for corporate and product communications. You will work closely with partners across the business to identify and amplify key storylines, manage agency partners, and build relationships with key reporters. 

What you'll do: 

• Establish our external communications strategy, partnering closely with executives and our agency partners to successfully implement a PR program
• Define KPIs for the program, evangelize those metrics with go-to-market leaders, and ultimately track the success of our external communications efforts
• Make the most of company announcements and drive a regular cadence of press coverage outside of news moments
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product marketing and product teams on launches, continuously sharing our innovation with the world
• Uncover new stories through the business and build compelling thought leadership platforms for an extended bench of executives
• Create compelling content, such as bylines and blogs, and push us to be creative with owned content
• Build relationships with key journalists, editors, and producers to ensure Chainguard is a trusted source on a variety of topics 
• Manage the relationship with our PR agency partners, treating them as an extension of our internal team, ultimately enabling them to be proactive and productive
• Partner with your peers across Corporate Marketing and Internal Communications to ensure consistency in our messaging across every channel

What we're looking for: 

• 8+ years in communications; experience working in technology, SaaS, and security
• Proven ability to understand technical products and up-level them for a more executive-level audience
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Experience working with executives
• Cross–functional project management skills
• A willingness to adapt to change, move quickly, and think on your feet
