Warehouseman

The Material Handler is responsible for checking in freight, verifying shipments, and safely moving materials and equipment around the field. This role plays a key part in ensuring that materials are delivered to the right locations on time, contributing to smooth and efficient job site operations.

This position requires a CDL with passenger endorsement.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

• Receive and check in freight deliveries according to packing slips and shipment documentation
• Inspect incoming materials for damage, quantity accuracy, and proper labeling
• Stores purchased parts in storeroom bins and issue parts to workers upon request.
• Safely transport materials and equipment throughout the field or job site using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other handling equipment
• Communicate with supervisors and crew to ensure timely delivery of materials to designated areas
• Maintain clear and organized storage areas
• Keeps records of parts received and issued, and inventories parts in storeroom.
• Maintain 100% “Safety Standards and Accountability” in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirements, which include:
  • Maintain compliance with the required HSE Training.
  • Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be unsafe.
  • Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly and willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to a safety incident.
  • Performs work in strict compliance with permitting requirements, Alaska Safety Handbook (ASH) Standards and other compliance-oriented directives.
  • Participating in safety meetings, working safely, and maintaining a safe work environment as an employee and representative of CCI Industrial Services.
  • Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working.
  • Demonstrate and promote safe work practices by participating in JSA reviews, pre-job walkdowns and safety START card preparations covering work activities and materials required by the company and the client.
  • Promote and participate in Safety Programs.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Understanding of basic warehouse and inventory procedures
• Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes
• Basic understanding of equipment used to move freight (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks)
• Strong attention to detail for checking quantities, labels, and potential damage
• Clear communication skills to coordinate with field crews and supervisors
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and navigate uneven terrain
• Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications,

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Driver’s license
• NSTC Card
• Current (CDL) with a Hazmat endorsement,
• Must be willing to obtain a Passenger endorsement within 6 months of hire.
• Computer skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and other Microsoft Office applications.
