Marymount Hospital's Emergency Department provides 24/7 emergency services, ranging from minor injuries to critical and resuscitative care, for patients of all ages. This is an excellent opportunity for a student who is looking to start their nursing career at Cleveland Clinic and work in a supportive and caring environment. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment.

A caregiver in this position works day/night rotation from 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.  with every other weekend and holiday requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.  
  • Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. 
  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).  
  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.  
  • Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.  
  • Document in patients’ medical records.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program) 
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)  
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) 
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department.
