Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant position is primarily responsible for managing various accounts receivable and general accounting processes.  The position is an independent contributor with no supervisory responsibilities.  The position reports directly to the Senior Accountant. Professionals with staff accountant, billing specialist, and or accounts receivable experience are highly encouraged to apply.

Essential Job Functions

• Process weekly full cycle accounts payable process.
• Process bank deposits and coding of cash receipts in Financial Edge Accounting Software.
• Tracking and monitoring all billing, payments, and collections to effectively manage accounts receivable.
• Monitoring, researching, and resolving unpaid, rejected, and denied claims.
• Monitoring client eligibility with insurance providers for monthly billing.
• Identify and/or research additional opportunities for increased billing.
• Serve as back up on school district billing and invoices.
• Respond to staff questions regarding claims-related concerns.
• Assist with month end close process to include bank reconciliations and miscellaneous journal entries.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and operate with integrity.
• Strong customer service, organizational skills, and attention to detail
• Collaboration across teams and vendors 

Other Job Functions 

• Must be flexible per business needs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Limited physical lifting of general office supplies as needed, up to five pounds.

    Working Conditions

• Position is in office 5 days per week not eligible for remote.
• General office environment.
• Limited local travel as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting or finance or related field
• One or more years of experience in accounting
• Three or more years of experience may substitute for the degree requirement.
• Valid CO driver’s license
