Position Overview:

The following position is to join our Enterprise Services, Enterprise Data Services team within RTX Corporate:

The RTX Enterprise Data Services Organization is seeking an Associate Director Technical Lead.  The successful candidate will collaborate with RTX-wide stakeholders to build solutions that utilizing XETA Analytics, XETA AI & XETA Dev platforms.  In addition, provide technical thought leadership to teams in support of high priority technology investments with significant business impact. This is an individual contributor role.

XETA is RTX’s enterprise-wide Digital Platform Portfolio for Cloud, Data Management, Analytics, AI/ML and Software Factory.  XETA provides an E2E turnkey platform so RTX practitioners can focus on delivering business value.

What You Will do:

  • Lead the design and build of enterprise-wide Analytics, AI and Software solutions.
  • Automate the deployment, management and observability of platform services.
  • Design and build integrations to create composite platform services or centralized coordination services.
  • Collaborate with the XETA Cloud Platform team on enhancements in new or existing regions.
  • Collaborate with Cloud & Data Platform SMEs to design multi-cloud, multi-region COTS deployments.
  • Partner with BUs and Corporate Functions to design, build and deploy Business Solution.
  • Influence decisions and drive alignment across organizational boundaries.
  • Define standards and best practices.
  • Provide input/collaborate on Reference Architectures and Design Patterns.
  • Participate in RTX-wide technology councils as needed (Ex. Enterprise Architecture, Data Boards)
  • Continuously evaluate new technologies / services.
  • Hands-on Software & Cloud Design and Engineering.
  • Lead and mentor less experienced team members.
  • Provide input to Product Management on Roadmap and Sequencing.
  • Translate Product Roadmaps into foundation platform capabilities.
  • Participate in Intake and Long-Range Planning.
  • Provide guidance on prioritization based on RTX-wide impact, synergies.
  • Lead a subset of cross-team PI technical goal setting and assist multiple scrum teams in identifying dependences and sequencing.
  • Collaborate with product management and business stakeholders to continuously evolve the platform technical strategy.
  • Lead the harmonization of technical requirements across BUs/Enterprise Services.
  • Lead planning with Cloud suppliers to maximize RTX technical investments.
  • Travel 10-20% domestically.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience

  • 5 years minimum experience with modern data applications & platforms utilizing AWS, Azure and Hybrid.

  • 5 years minimum experience in DevSecOps practices – ex. IaC, CI/CD, Code Scanning & Analysis.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Working knowledge of financial analysis to forecast cloud usage costs.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment with a high degree of autonomy
