Position Summary

The People Business Partner functions as the first-line human resources contact in support of leaders and crewmembers to drive business results that are in line with the JetBlue’s Mission, Vision, and Values and strategy. The People Business Partner will partner with the People Centers of Excellence to establish, lead and coordinate efforts on human resources initiatives which positively impact the attraction, motivation, development, and retention of talent as well as maintain the company’s strong culture. This position advises and supports crewleaders on strategic issues and works to build and sustain trust and collaboration with crewmembers at all levels and across departments to inspire engagement and commitment to a thriving workplace.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first-point of contact, establishes relationships with all crewmembers and drive change through data-base insights and influence in support of People Team initiatives and functional strategy.
  • Act as a consultant to leadership on all People inquiries and HR-related policy and procedure interpretation.  
  • Partner with the Centers of Excellence and leadership on the JetBlue Performance Management program and annual compensation cycle, to ensure decisions are performance based and consistent with talent development goals.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and feedback to leadership to increase overall performance, effectiveness and cohesiveness.
  • Deliver People programs, including new leader assimilations, SpeakUp action-planning, succession planning/talent reviews, career conversations and employee development.
  • Recommend appropriate tools to develop and engage leaders, building diverse bench, and assess training needs for teams.
  • Execute ongoing performance plan process that supports individual crewmember performance tracking.
  • Drive the experience for all crewmembers and ensure behavior of leaders and colleagues fully aligns with culture.
  • Drive key communications of relevant HR updates, changes, program roll outs, etc. to the business leaders.
  • Leverage insights from surveys to prioritize actions to improve crewmember experience.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma.
  • One (1) year of generalist/business partner level HR experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically and creatively when resolving issues and concerns.
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge.
  • Available for overnight travel (25%).
  • Must be in possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
