Compensation Starting at: Position Salary Range: $ 26.54 - $ 33.63 per hour
Starting Pay: Although our full pay range is included above, the budgeted hiring range for this position is $ 26.54 - $30.08 per hour.    Schedule: Full-Time 37.5 hours/week; Non-Exempt  Remote vs On-Site: 80% Remote; 20% On-Site Monday - Friday: 9am - 5pm, schedule can vary and include some Saturdays  

The Objective: Your work will be a rewarding customer service and patient care experience providing caring and efficient support to our patients who receive services at Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains (PPRM).  

Success: You will know you are successful when patients who indicate they have significant barriers to care are relieved from as much of the logistical, practical, and financial burdens related to their care as possible, such that the path to obtaining high-quality, patient-centered care is clear and smooth. Additionally, access to care will coincide with the financial health and sustainability of PPRM services as it relates to visit costs and patient payment.

Snapshot: The patient navigation program was built to help guide patients through the health care system by connecting them to funding opportunities, alternate resources, care inside and outside of PPRM, and managing the logistical needs of accessing care. Given the nature of our environment, the navigator will have a particular focus on patients seeking abortion services. Candidate must reside in CO, NM or NV.

As a non-licensed staff person, you will help patients identify their needs related to accessing care and connect them to appropriate resources and support. Some of the day-to-day activities may include scheduling appointments and/or referrals to other clinical care sites, conducting financial intake and/or helping to secure funding for their care if necessary, organizing logistical and practical support, and collaborating with clinical and non-clinical staff in a timely manner in order to help patients access care. You will collaborate with diverse organizations and personnel to ensure the needs of the patient are met. You will address patient concerns that is within your scope as outlined by PPRM policies and procedures, transferring patients to the appropriate team member as necessary. Patient communication will be timely, culturally appropriate, empathetic, and accurate.

You may work from home or office. If you work from home, you will need a reliable internet connection, quiet space that is free of distractions so that you can focus on your job responsibilities. Background noise should be limited, and you must be able to maintain a space that provides patient confidentiality. You may be required to be in the office occasionally for administrative duties, training, or teambuilding. 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent   
  • Experience providing empathetic, culturally appropriate patient centered care
  • Ability to work under pressure and on tight deadlines 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills  
  • Ability to adapt to change and promote a positive culture 
  • Ability to efficiently implement and contribute to the improvement of processes
  • Knowledge of HIPPA Compliance

Preferred:

  • Experience working in electronic health records system preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Associate degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
  • Previous experience with Planned Parenthood, community health, or patient navigation/case management preferred
