SUMMARY:
The Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) reports to the Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer. The ACNO is the Senior Nursing Leader accountable for one or more service lines within the Patient Care Services Division. Has full responsibility for nursing operations, people management, strategic/clinical goals, and budget responsibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Formulates the vision and strategic plan for their service line, in accordance with the Patient Care Services strategic plan
Attract, retains, and develops the best and brightest Nursing Leadership Team
Establishes and maintains an environment conducive to excellence in patient care
Continually evaluates patient quality, safety, and performance, identifies improvement opportunities, and plans and implements improvement programs
Establishes and maintains an environment that promotes a spirit of inquiry and is supportive of professional nursing practice and a evidenced based practices
Promotes multi-disciplinary collaboration
Engages in professional development activities
Directs the development and implementation of standards, policies and programs to ensure excellence in nursing practice
Assures compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations and accrediting agencies.
Responsible for compliance in practice aligned with nursing excellence programs (Magnet, Beacon, Lantern, etc.)
Prepares, administers, and monitors revenue, capital, expense, and personnel budgets for assigned departments in collaboration with department directors and finance team.
Participates in establishing financial plans, integrating the institution’s mission and goals.
Advocates for resources necessary for the optimal work environment and exceptional patient care
Mentors and develops nursing staff at all levels to ensure appropriate succession plans are in place at all levels of the nursing organization and that a strong pipeline exists for future nursing leaders.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required
A Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is also required.
At least 5 years of progressive management experience with a clinical focus in a healthcare system.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Results driven leader with experience in developing, designing and executing clinical programs that create measurable outcomes in quality, service, finance, growth and people.

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.

PAY RANGE:
$120,000.00 - $185,000.00CITY:

It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
