Job Description/Position Summary

NEW: PXP is seeking a Senior Business Affairs Manager who will play an integral role overseeing integrated productions, including broadcast, print, experiential and digital projects led by PXP in partnership with the client’s creative agency, BBH.  This person is a team player with a creative mind, an ability to work in a fast-paced creative environment and an extensive understanding of the production process from conception and bidding to final delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Creative Reviews

  • In partnership with other agency stakeholders, review creative materials at all stages and advise Agency and client teams on talent, music, and other third party rights, including copyright, trademark, and rights of publicity.
  • Review vendor agreements to ensure alignment with Client SOWs and MSAs.
  • Partner with legal counsel to perform preliminary trademark searches for proposed branding, taglines, signage, etc..
  • Manage intellectual property rights and clearance acquisitions.
  • Negotiate, structure, and draft celebrity talent, creator, music, and intellectual property deals.
  • Work with Agency legal counsel on issues including contracts, updating releases, contract templates, risk assessment and indemnifications.
  • Work with insurance and risk management to evaluate production and contract concerns as necessary.

Production

  • Help track and manage active agency production jobs
  • Review AICP, Covid Compliance Documents, Animation and Music bids with Producer.
  • Partner with finance and production to finalize client estimates and caveats prior to Client signature.
  • Create and issue award documents including production contract, insurance, licensing and talent agreements and vendor purchase orders.
  • Work with Producers and Finance relating to production costs
  • Create AD-IDs for clients as needed.
  • Proactively manage all account transition documentation.

Talent and Music

  • Participate in project scoping discussions, providing Producers and Client teams with accurate estimates for talent session fees, usage, residuals, and all other talent and music related costs of production.
  • Advise Agency teams and Clients on union rules, regulations and best practices.
  • Issue talent contracts, session reports and final casts. Pay session, holding fees, usage and renegotiations in compliance with SAG/AFTRA/ACTRA and AFofM guidelines.
  • Create and negotiate music vendor agreements from popular music, demos, to original compositions to various licensing structures.
  • Negotiate overscale talent and creator deals.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years' experience in business affairs
  • Must have SAG experience
  • Experience with contract negotiations with clients and third parties
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple projects at once

Additional Information

Compensation Range: $98,500- $165,500. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with app
