Supplier Management Program Lead

This position will be responsible for the successful development and management of GLIC’s supplier management program to appropriately manage our top categorized suppliers from a commercial perspective. He/she will work closely and regularly with Category Managers, Third-Party Risk Management, department leadership and business partners.

Manage and develop Guardian Supplier Management Program
Increase Guardian’s supplier management brand within business organizations through events, category and spend readouts, increased collaboration with business, and access to Guardian’s objectives and priorities.
Have ability to leverage suppliers to enhance the supplier value – increased participation in strategic workshops with Guardian leadership/SME’s, broad industry feedback, contract terms’ optimization, increased supplier executive sponsorship to enhance delivery, deeper relationships for speed to change, etc.
Provides a holistic view of categorized suppliers and spend analytics to enhance the BRO’s (Business Relationship Managers) and Category Managers’ operational and strategic effectiveness.
Effectively plan EBC’s (Executive Business Conferences) with selected suppliers as required to maintain proper strategic alignment. This includes build-out and approval of final agenda, participants and timing based on feedback from Category Managers and ESP leadership
Develop and support a reporting system/framework that provides a consistent and full “360” view of our top categorized suppliers that includes opportunities/deals in process, areas of risk, performance, business criticality, financials, ESG and other supplier information needs.
Ensure required supplier specific recurring meetings occur to include proper agenda and participation are held, with documented follow-ups as needed. Examples include QBR’s (quarterly business reviews, reverse EBC’s (exec business reviews)
Develop a performance monitoring framework to track the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
Organize and hold at least one annual Guardian “insight” event that educate our suppliers on Guardian business and strategic objectives, which fosters partnership and ideation with key suppliers
Perform Implementation Monitoring of key implementations going on within the firm by third parties.
Conduct annual Supplier Assessment Visits to key BRO and Outsourcing providers to measure onsite performance and ensure that standards are met.
Maintain supplier categorization criteria and resulting from annual segmentation
Manage the supplier management governance and policy
Maintain and administer the set of preferred suppliers to include criteria, updating, etc.
Contribute as needed to category strategies, diversity/ESG initiatives, and Third-Party Risk Management operations
You have
Minimum bachelor’s degree in business or related field required.
Must have a minimum of 7 years in supplier management, sourcing, or related field
Strong organizational, collaboration, communication, and presentation skills with self-starter mind-set
Experience in managing suppliers from a strategic sourcing/category management perspective
Project management and/or service delivery experience
Versed in technology ecosystem and applicability to solving business opportunities
Ability to deliver insights and opportunities based on bringing together multiple data sets and feedback
Location
Hybrid: 2 days in office, 3 days WFH. Preferred location – Holmdel, NJ or Hudson Yards, New York City

Salary Range
$99,190.00 - $162,955.00The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
