About the Role & Team:
The Post Supervisor for Partner Studio projects is responsible for engaging with and providing support across multiple shows that are produced as hybrid or external productions to Disney Television Animation. The ideal candidate has experience and expert knowledge in all areas of Animation Post Production with a clear understanding of everything involved with the scheduling, sound design, and finishing for distribution.
The Post Supervisor should have a clear understanding of 2D and 3D animation. They need to be familiar with technology used in the creation and distribution of digital TV, including the legacy of SD and HD resolutions, aspect ratios and delivery codecs. Understanding of vendor post pipelines and workflows is key. Also important is a familiarity with all areas of Post Sound Design and Mixing with a firm grasp of the concepts and technology involved with Stereo, 5.1, and ATMOS Sound Print Mastering.
The Post Production Supervisor should have excellent communication skills, be organized and able to work with a team under strict deadlines. Ability to work closely with the Partner Studio’s Show Runners/Creators/Producers and Executives, in addition to internal and external post house facilities to ensure necessary approvals occur prior to final delivery.
What You Will Do:
- Lead Post Kick-Off Meetings between the Mastering department and Partner Studios. Ensuring that all questions are answered and needed materials are provided.
- Make note of deliverable requirements at series start and re-confirm with each new season ensuring they are being followed throughout the production.
- Set up each show with their respective software needs (i.e. PIX, Scenechronize, Media Monorail) working with the Mastering department as needed.
- Maintain a delivery schedule and alert show Producer and post executives of any problems that may cause the production to miss delivery/air dates.
- Act as main studio contact for shows and answer questions as needed regarding deliveries and recalls.
- Ensure Final Delivery of episodes and confirming that proper deliverable paperwork is included with each new delivery, including, but not limited to, Format Sheet, Licensed Materials Lists, and Final Credits.
- Monitor impairment notes from Vendor QC and help navigate any potential issues, including any potential recalls.
- Work with Technology team to ensure all security guidelines are adhered to with respect to company materials, distribution, and software access. Acquire approval for external/clean sharing of materials.
- When necessary, Post Production Supervisor will assist external Disney departments that may include Publicity, Brand Franchise, Marketing, and Localization for show related ancillary content requests.
- After series wrap, manage archiving of animation assets working with TVA Digital Production Department.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
The ideal candidate possesses previous post-production experience and has the ability to adapt to various workflows and pipelines.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in animation post-production.
- Experience with QC reports.
- Must be able to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- General experience with Outlook required.
- Knowledge of 2D/CGI and Harmony pipelines required. Familiarity with Unreal Engine a plus.
- Knowledge of Scenechronize is a must. Knowledge of PIX, Airtable, Excel, F-track, One Drive and other tracking software a plus.
