The candidate will improve the way powertrain manages, analyses, and utilizes data to enhance decision-making within the organization. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who will be primarily responsible for development and maintenance of physics based prognostics, as well as analyzing performance data. This individual will use physical and data-driven modeling to evaluate potential opportunities to improve business and operational metrics.



Responsibilities:

• Investigate and identify each powertrain team’s improvement opportunities with regards to fleet, lab, manufacturing, and service data.
• Apply engineering principles to develop statistical and machine learning models for customer fleet, lab, manufacturing, and service data.
• Work with Powertrain test and validation lab teams to centralize data and analytical tools that can expediate the collection, storage, and use of critical data.
• Provide data insights to design engineers from the fleet, drive units, and bench tests for performance, reliability, and repeatability enhancement and optimization.
• Help define and optimize test procedures in conjunction with test engineers through advanced analytics, automation, and data driven models.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency and enthusiasm for understanding the operational intricacies of power electronics, drive units, as well as battery cells, modules, and packs.
• Experience planning and designing sub-system bench tests for fluid/electro/mechanical systems.
• Demonstrate modeling and visualization approaches as part of proof-of-concept projects.
• Proficiency with Python and SQL programming, experience with Jupyter Notebook, Airflow, Pyspark, and machine learning and deep learning frameworks.

Education:

• M.S. plus 6 years in mechanical, electrical engineering, or data science with a mechanical/electrical background or equivalent.

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.   Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k.
