We are seeking a proactive and results-oriented individual to support item data management within the Global Merchandising team. The Manager of Item Master Data will be responsible for handling and maintaining the integrity of item data, support business adoption of data governance practices and facilitate issue resolution in collaboration with stakeholders. This role involves acting as the item data steward, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is available from and to various departments, including procurement, merchandising and supply chain among others.
What You Will Do
Here are just a few ways that you’ll help make journeys better:
Defining and updating process for item lifecycle management (item creation, discontinuation, item master data change, etc) and managing Item, Category and Merchandising Hierarchy.
Securing the implementation of the item onboarding process, policies, guidelines and standards.
Creating and document data processes and data-related policies
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance data management efficiency.
Ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of all item data.
Identifying item data discrepancies and work with business SME’S and data owners to address issues promptly.
Working closely with merchandising, procurement, data governance, supply chain, BU teams and other departments to ensure item data meets their needs.
Collaborate with IT, Data Governance and vendors for item data sources, tools and services, ensuring compatibility with the organization’s goals and systems.
Training and support staff on item data management best practices.
Ensuring compliance with internal data management policies and external regulations.
What You Need
We want you to join our team! Here’s what we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Retail Management, Data Management, Information Technology/Systems, Computer Science or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in data management, inventory management, retail merchandising or a related field.
Knowledge of data governance, item management best practices and industry standards.
Experience with ERP systems; knowledge of PDI as ERP and Back Office is a plus.
Knowledge of modern database and information system technologies.
Familiarity with PIM systems (1WSync, Syndigo, etc.).
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Access, Word etc.).
Demonstrated success working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive change across the organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to deal well with ambiguity, complexity, change and pace. Comfortable managing multiple projects and tasks, prioritizing amongst them.
Capable of leading and managing people and processes in a dynamic environment, without relying on direct supervision. Must excel in independently driving outcomes and navigating ambiguity.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with strong ability to synthesize and simplify complex ideas into compelling presentations.
Travel required less than 10% of time, some international. Passport or travel documentation/visa required.
Flexibility around working hours required, working with teams across time zones.
