The Position

The Client Account Manager will support the firm’s client relationship management and business development activities. The individual will interact with institutional clients and prospects to address inquiries, coordinate with internal colleagues to meet client needs and tailor communications to specific audiences.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Independently manage day-to-day communications and requests from assigned clients.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with and coordinate across internal teams to respond to inquiries in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Prepare custom presentations and supporting materials to best present the firm’s investment capabilities.
  • Coordinate and host operational due diligence meetings.
  • Assist with institutional account onboardings and terminations.
  • Leverage proprietary research to produce investment commentaries for institutional audiences.
  • Learn and understand existing and upcoming technologies to support the client experience.
  • Proactively raise client trends and issues with internal stakeholders to create strategic client solutions.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the operational workflows that impact clients.
  • Continue to develop knowledge of Harris | Oakmark products and services, including investment objectives, product differentiators, etc.
  • Maintain client data and log meeting notes in Harris’ client relationship management system (SalesForce).
  • Contribute to project work as directed by senior members of the team.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred

  • Progress toward CFA and/ or MBA highly desirable
  • 4+ years of experience in asset management or comparable industry (e.g., investment consulting, wealth management) required; prior institutional account management experience preferred
  • Understanding of the institutional investment business and the firm’s products and services
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to adapt to change
  • Excellent reading comprehension and written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with clients, prospects, management and peers
  • Ability to organize and visualize data
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize numerous projects and tight deadlines

Actual annual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, and other job-related factors. If hired, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis and is only one part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include a discretionary performance bonus and other Harris sponsored benefit programs.
