Position Summary:
Kemper Auto is seeking a Senior Market Analyst, to work out of our Kemper office in Alpharetta, GA. A member of the Product Management team, the incumbent will be working to drive profit and growth by implementing business and pricing strategies for lines of business. Provide State Management with the detailed analysis required to profitably grow the non-standard auto insurance products and meet the needs of Kemper’s customers.
Position Responsibilities:
Collaboration
- Assist Marketing & Sales Department with the development of all sales promotional materials and marketing strategies of assigned state to ensure that they are directed to the targeted consumer group
- Partner with Product Managers to develop and maintain a prioritized list of analyses.
- Provides support to State Managers in a large state or group of small states in the quest for profitable growth
- Recognizes potential system opportunities or issues during data analysis and collaborates with Business Technology partners as appropriate.
- Inclination to take ownership of assigned projects and independently drive for results.
- Interacts with state insurance regulators.
Data Analytics
- Analyze performance of products to provide recommendations necessary to achieve financial goals.
- Work with the staff support departments as needed to establish standards regarding policy services, data processing requests, pricing and budget analysis, sales support and claims
- Analyze the profitability of program based on written premium, loss ratio and controllable expenses
- Ability to work on complex problems / projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors
- Works with team members to research, conduct high-quality analyses, report, and communicate key product performance metrics.
- Research key business data using statistical analysis and data mining to understand historical patterns that can be utilized to improve business performance.
- Executes the development, analysis, maintenance and reporting of performance scorecards.
- Develops the programming of scalable and flexible data reporting and analysis solutions to fulfill the needs of the team.
- Documents programs, queries, and dashboards for reliable future use; automates useful reports and solutions.
Reporting
- Preparing documents including correspondence, spreadsheets, reports, memoranda, and other materials (including presentations, graphics and charts).
- Prepares records, charts, etc., as needed and for month-end reports.
- Keen attention to detail, including excellent verbal and written skills, as well as document aesthetics
Position Qualifications:
- 2+ years of product analysis experience preferred.
- Insurance experience preferred but not required.
- Experience/interest in statistical and business analysis.
- Education equivalent to a college degree in mathematics, statistics, risk management, business, data analytics, actuarial studies or related fields, or the equivalent in related work experience.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with database querying required.
- Experience in SAS, Tableau, SQL, SQL Server, VBA, Access and/or other data and statistical tools desired.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface at all levels of the organization.
- Superb relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
- The selected candidate will work a hybrid work schedule which will require weekly reporting to one of our office locations in Chicago, IL, Alpharetta, GA or Dallas, TX.
The range for this position is $77,100 to $128,500. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors. This job is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and Kemper benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO,
