General / Facilities Maintenance

Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Assists or works independently on various maintenance projects in the facility. 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

· Helps mechanics or electricians with any maintenance function.

· Helps custodians at time with cleaning and waxing floors or ant functions that they need assistance with. 

· Helps with painting, cleaning walls, cleaning floors, cleaning machinery or any outside equipment or buildings. 

· Keep yards clean and free of any trash or equipment parts.

· Must be able to work unexpected hours. 

·  Performs other duties as assigned by management.

DECISIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Must work safely at all times obeying both OSHA and company guidelines.

· Report any unsafe actions or conditions to management immediately.

· Must be able to work unsupervised. 

Requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

· High School Diploma or equivalent preferred (GED).

· Knowledge of manufacturing and prior work in manufacturing preferred. 

· Must be able to read and follow written work instructions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

· Must be able to lift up to approximately 50 pounds.

· Must be able to stand on your feet for extended period of time. 

· Must be able to work around equipment that generates extensive heat.

· Must be able to bend, stoop, and squat. 

· Must be able to travel throughout the facility to obtain information needed to perform job functions.

· Must be able to work/collaborate with a team.

· Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, fumes, dust particles, and temperature extremes.
