About the role

Issues parts and tools and maintains inventory and records for the parts / tool room.

 

Day-to-Day Role:

  • Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements.
  • Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards
  • Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Record, control, and monitor parts room inventory using ERP production system
  • Ensure inventory items are received and stored appropriately; expedite orders as needed
  • Track and maintain appropriate documentation
  • Responsible for inventory record accuracy, cycle counts, root cause analysis and corrective action for variances.
  • Send out parts out to be rebuilt or repaired as needed
  • Unload and deliver tools and parts manually or via forklift, lift truck or pallet jack as needed
  • Clean, disassemble and assemble parts and tools as needed
  • Verify, compare, and confirm type and quality of received goods against Bill of Lading, invoices, or pick tickets
  • Report and record any discrepancy, damaged items, shortages, broken or unidentified packages to the supervisor
  • Ensure that all tools, parts and equipment are in good working conditions

 

Core Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:

  • Minimum six months of experience in manufacturing or packaging
  • Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create reports, documents, and spreadsheets in MS Word and MS Excel
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) license
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Math skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Familiar with and ability to convert decimals to fractions or vice versa
  • Ability to observe, follow, understand, and evaluate processes demonstrated and other workplace procedures
  • Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous parts counter, storeroom, tool room/crib or parts room, inventory control or purchasing experience
  • Previous plant production software experience required, SAP experience
  • Previous powered industrial truck experience 
  • Experience using power and hand tools
