Parts Room Attendant

Issues parts and tools and maintains inventory and records for the parts / tool room.
Day-to-Day Role:
- Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements.
- Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards
- Follow and commit to safety and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Record, control, and monitor parts room inventory using ERP production system
- Ensure inventory items are received and stored appropriately; expedite orders as needed
- Track and maintain appropriate documentation
- Responsible for inventory record accuracy, cycle counts, root cause analysis and corrective action for variances.
- Send out parts out to be rebuilt or repaired as needed
- Unload and deliver tools and parts manually or via forklift, lift truck or pallet jack as needed
- Clean, disassemble and assemble parts and tools as needed
- Verify, compare, and confirm type and quality of received goods against Bill of Lading, invoices, or pick tickets
- Report and record any discrepancy, damaged items, shortages, broken or unidentified packages to the supervisor
- Ensure that all tools, parts and equipment are in good working conditions
Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
- Minimum six months of experience in manufacturing or packaging
- Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including the ability to create reports, documents, and spreadsheets in MS Word and MS Excel
- Ability to obtain and maintain Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) license
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Math skills to include simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Familiar with and ability to convert decimals to fractions or vice versa
- Ability to observe, follow, understand, and evaluate processes demonstrated and other workplace procedures
- Demonstration of minimum proficiency with the English language in order to ensure effective new hire training and on-going communications about safety and quality issues
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous parts counter, storeroom, tool room/crib or parts room, inventory control or purchasing experience
- Previous plant production software experience required, SAP experience
- Previous powered industrial truck experience
- Experience using power and hand tools
