The Department of Pathology is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician I to perform phlebotomy/specimen collection, and a variety of laboratory tasks related to phlebotomy:  labeling specimens, telephone inquiries, and distribution of phlebotomy supplies. This position is 60%-time, Saturday & Sunday from 1900-0730.

Duties to include:

·        Perform phlebotomy draws.

·        Perform computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required.

·        Order, receive, and distribute supplies.

·        Respond to basic phlebotomy inquiries and otherwise represent assigned and related work areas.

Qualifications

 

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

·        High school graduation or equivalent.

Special Qualifications:

·        Previous public contact/customer service experience.

Desirable Qualifications:

·        Completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience is desirable.

·        Minimum 6 months previous experience working in a healthcare setting is desirable.

·        Basic computer skills are desirable.

·        Previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment is desirable.

·        Previous patient contact experience is desirable.

·        Previous experience performing phlebotomy in a neonatal and/or pediatric setting is desired.
