OB Medical Director/MD

As the OB Medical Director you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction in all medical matters to ensure the delivery of high-quality, comprehensive health care services to our community. You will oversee the clinical operations, medical staff, and programs, while collaborating with the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Clinical Officer to achieve the organization's mission and goals.

Essential Job Duties:

• Leadership and Strategic Direction:
  • Provide visionary leadership in the development and implementation of medical strategies aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to establish goals, policies, and procedures that support the provision of quality healthcare services.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to inform strategic decision-making.
• Clinical Oversight and Quality Improvement:
  • Ensure the delivery of evidence-based, culturally competent medical care to patients served by the FQHC.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, patient safety, and satisfaction.
  • Monitor clinical performance metrics and outcomes data to identify areas for improvement and drive performance excellence
• Medical Staff Management:
  • Ensure the delivery of evidence-based, culturally competent medical care to patients served by the FQHC.
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, patient safety, and satisfaction.
  • Monitor clinical performance metrics and outcomes data to identify areas for improvement and drive performance excellence
• Physician Duties
  • Provide OB/GYN services for which the physician is trained within the clinic setting and Ohio Health Mansfield hospital setting.
  • Expected to provide the number of budgeted patient visits annually as determined each year and adjusted with notice- this is minimal expectation.
  • Required to provide on-call coverage at OhioHealth and all other duties required under the hospital privileging agreement.
  • Observe and conform to the standards of Third Street Family Health Services.
  • Active collaboration with and supervision of other health care providers including but not limited to Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives.
  • Maintenance of all required licensures, certification, registration, training, medical knowledge (including but not limited to new or changing treatments and standards of care), and or expertise to meet the needs of patients of Third Street as determined by the organization.
  • Acquisition of additional trainings, licensures, or certificates as deemed necessary by Third Street in the ongoing determination and mission to meet the needs of patients and the community.
  • Maintaining on a current basis all appropriate patient records, and likewise to observe and conform to all laws, customs and ethics applicable to the medical profession.
    Collaborate in a professional and collegial manner with all members of the health care team regardless of level of licensures.
  • Practice, communicate, and embody the dispassionate and unbiased delivery of care regardless of personal bias or prejudice and as appropriate for a professional of the rank of staff physician at Third Street.
  • Compliance with administrative standards including but not limited to medical reports as outlined by the Chief Medical Officer.
  • Participation in good faith in peer review audit of charts as designated by Third Street.
  • To be available by Cell phone to Nurse Practitioners/ Physicians Assistants for consultation if off premises as required and regardless of scheduled work days.  
• Recruit, onboard, and retain qualified medical professionals, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to medical staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement professional development opportunities for medical staff
• Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards (e.g., HRSA, Joint Commission).
  • Work closely with the CMO and CCO to develop and implement policies and protocols to mitigate clinical risks and promote patient safety.
  • Collaborate with the CMO, CCO and legal counsel to address regulatory issues and maintain organizational integrity.  
• Be a positive role model for all health center staff.
