Senior Manager, Accounting
Position Summary MeridianLink is seeking an experienced, initiative-taking, meticulous, and customer service focused Senior Manager of Accounting to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Assistant Corporate Controller, this role will be responsible for providing leadership in managing our corporate accounting operations and will be a key contributor to the continuing growth of the Company.
As the Senior Manager of Accounting, you will have a broad range of responsibilities involving all aspects of the monthly financial close, financial operations, financial analysis, SEC reporting, and system implementations. This will include supporting the Assistant Corporate Controller and Corporate Controller with monthly close and reporting, financial analysis and continuous process improvement. The ideal candidate should have a proven history of accomplishments within rapidly growing organizations within a public company environment with demonstrated continual management progression during career.
What you would do:•Lead, manage and preparation of the monthly financial close including consolidations, reconciliations, journal entries, review of SOX controls, and preparation of the monthly and quarterly reporting package and analysis.•Prepare, review and approval of journal entries, account reconciliations across all general accounting and tax accounts and related matters.•Management of the close calendar and deliverables and lead monthly close status meetings.•Coordinate timely and accurate monthly accounting and reporting for internal and external (SEC) requirements including preparation of financial statements and earnings per share calculations. •Manage and support the Company’s external reporting and technical accounting function with respect to related quarterly earnings and 10-Q/10-K reporting including disclosure checklists and related SOX controls and assist in assessing accounting implications including implementation of new accounting pronouncements or new business initiatives.•Ownership of the Company’s account reconciliation repository and monthly task management tool (Blackline).•Ensure SOX compliance maintenance, documentation and testing for accounting operations business processes for areas of responsibility.•Provide training and development to the team. Foster a team environment that encourages accountability and excellence in delivery. Attract, develop, motivate, and retain talent within those teams.•Assist and support with audits, tax filings and review of supporting documentation and various analysis.•Support external audits by providing supporting schedules, reconciliations, pulling selections and interfacing with external auditors as required.•Partner with various department leads regularly to ensure timely and accurate accounting close process and drive improvements of various processes.•Participate in department and inter-departmental process improvement and documentation.•Assistance in filing various state, county, and city tax as well as other government filings.•Participate/lead other ad-hoc projects as needed.
What we are looking for:
•6 to 13+ years of professional finance/accounting experience in public company corporate accounting operations with demonstrated continual management progression during career.•Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.•6+ years of management experience with demonstrated strengths in managing close processes, consolidations and external and internal audits for public company organizations.•Public company experience and CPA required.•Public Accounting experience preferred.•Software or SaaS company experience preferred.•Ability to meet stringent deadlines in a fast-paced hands-on environment required.•Comprehensive understanding of financial accounting and reporting under U.S. GAAP and SOX 404(b) compliance•Ability to stay current on FASB and SEC pronouncements and interpret impact to the Company in partnership with internal partners and external auditors.•Excellent communication skills, both within and across finance teams, but also with business partners (FP&A, HR, Marketing, IT, Legal, Engineering, and other business leaders).•Initiative-taker who is extremely comfortable working independently, but also works well within and across teams.•Strong problem solving, planning, quality control, adaptability, and cross-functional collaboration skills.•Process-oriented with experience in documenting processes and procedures.•Detailed oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills.•Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software applications.•Experience with NetSuite and Blackline applications is highly desirable.
