Security Engineer

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Architect and implement SIEM solutions in support of cybersecurity analysts and data science. Architect and Engineer SIEM solutions in a highly available, redundant, distributed computing environment. Developing, maintaining, enhancing and automating SIEM in a large scale environment deployed on systems running on Linux and Windows platforms. Perform SIEM/Splunk component deployment, configuration and troubleshooting across a variety of platforms both on-premises and in public clouds. Cybersecurity organization practices, operations risk management processes, principles, architectural requirements, engineering threats and vulnerabilities, including incident response methodologies. Translate business requirements into concrete SIEM and data analytics. Design and optimize SIEM architecture for large- scale/distributed deployments. Identify network attacks and systemic security issues as they relate to threats and vulnerabilities, with focus on recommendations for enhancements or remediation. Create technical documentation including SOP's and design documents related to system configurations, process, procedure, and knowledgebase articles.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as a Security Engineer, Software Developer, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as a Security Engineer, Software Developer, IT Consultant, or related occupation.

Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Cloud Services including AWS or Azure; UNIX; Performance Testing; Shell Scripting; Splunk; GIT; Infrastructure Architecture Disciplines; Jenkins; MongoDB; Python; Linux; Software Development; Agile; Enterprise logging with a focus on security event logging.
